Christopher Penn of Blue Sky Factory recently described how their Publicaster email marketing software can use our SMS marketing software to not only capture an email address, but also transmit that address and other useful information into Salesforce (or another CRM system).   The whole process starts when a user texts a specific keyword to the shortcode.  Christopher demonstrates how a QR code can be used as a shortcut for users who are comfortable with that technology.  He also gives a quick example of how Blue Sky Factory is using this technique at tradeshows and events.
